the red cross just put out a psa over here to tell people to knock it off with the filming of accidents and you know maybe fucking help or at least call 911...
this comes after 45 got ticketed for stopping to film the aftermath of a crash on the highway last week...also after some cop got very angry coz a crowd of people gathered to film him trying to reanimate someone
i’d post the video... but its in dutch and tbh.. pretty boring..
just sad that we need it now

I saw one dashcam video of a driver who launched their SUV out of a bank drive-through, up a grassy slope, and over another car to land in the street.
The dash cam owner grumbled and then parked to go inside the bank to do his business.
I was yelling at my computer for him to GO SEE IF THE OTHER DRIVER WAS OK. Dear heavens people are callous.

Why is it illegal to film an accident? Unless they’re actively preventing trained emergency personnel from doing their job, that sounds like some grade-A horseshit.
Most people are useless AF in an emergency situation, and would just make things worse by trying to get involved.

its not illegal to film an accident... it is illegal to use a phone whilst driving and stopping traffic to do so wont win you any friends either
and on the second point... if your gonna be useless... move along.. dont start filming
if for no other reason than the person being helped having family too.. and didnt give consent to being filmed
(i know if you’re out on the street its not nessecary to get consent... bot come on... have a little respect)

I guess I’d need to see the video. I was picturing people on the sidewalk filming, not people filming while driving.

oh the 45 tickets were people driving..
the angry cop was pretty much people on the sidewalk gawking
wich is not illegal... but i do get the cops point
and the video i would post is just the psa.. i dont have video from either of the incidents... its not my thing.. ive seen enough over the years to know i dont want to see that shit
